News from Brazil: Cartoonist and son are shot dead

Glauco Villas Boas, a well-known cartoonist in Brazil, was shot dead today in his house, in Osasco, a city near São Paulo. His 25-year-old son, Raoni, was also shot dead. According to police, three men broke in the family's house during the first hours of the morning. Glauco's wife and two of his daughters have witnessed the murders. Glauco, who created memorable characters as Geraldão, Doy Jorge and Dona Marta, was also a religious leader from a doctrine based on the psychedelic drink called ayahuasca.
